Past projects

If the proof is in the pudding, here is where you can taste some of my pudding.

Velocity Hockey Academy

After their recent acquisition of a new hockey program, Velocity Academy completed a full rebrand which included a new site design.

The plan for this project included a fresh sitemap concept, some content migration from the old Wix site, a domain transfer, DNS forwarding configuration, and an integration with an automatic translation plug-in to enable language toggling.

Planned With Care

PwC is a personal travel blog offering curated recommendations and tips for travellers. The manager of the site is passionate about travel… but web design? Not so much.

Weighing options for a redesign plan, we quickly realized she had a perfectly good site editor, Elementor, sitting right there in her WordPress dashboard, unused.

With a focus on keeping the site lightweight, optimized for digital ad placements, and simple for her to manage going forward, we built standardized page templates for each of her post types and migrated all her existing content into Elementor, adding additional blog functionality and a refreshed look.

After a thorough training session, I sent her back on her way, armed with a new set of tools and skills to keep building her brand.

The CDHL

I swear I can also do non-hockey related projects, but my clients want what they want!

The CDHL is a burger themed beer league. This site uses a modified WordPress Theme with sports management functionality for configuring seasons, managing player profiles, tracking teams and recording statistics.

Included in our scope of work was a research phase during which the client and I compared a few alternative options to find a solution that was cost-effective, but also easily maintainable post-launch.

This project serves as a great reminder that building something customized from scratch is not always the best plan of action.
